Migrant Communities
There are over 10.7 million people in Georgia representing over 4.4 million households. Currently, 14% of the households in Georgia speak or sign a language other than English at home. In some communities, that number is as high as 51% (U.S. Census, 2024). Some of these families are maintaining heritage languages while other represent forced migration and elective immigration. Collaborators have created an ever-evolving set of resources for migrant communities and those who support them.
